REIKI FAQ

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Is Reiki a Religion?

Although Reiki energy is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion. Practitioners are not asked to change any religious or spiritual beliefs they may have. They are free to continue believing anything they choose and are encouraged to make their own decisions concerning the nature of their religious practices.

How is a reiki treatment given?

In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The client is usually lying on a massage table but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains fully clothed. The practitioner places her/his hands on or near the client’s body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the clients needs.

Occasionally your practitioner may incorporate other healing methods should as aromatherapy, crystals, meditation or shamanic healing as they may help facilitate deeper healing.

How many sessions will I need?

There are no set amount of sessions. It really is dependent on each individual. For some people, one session may be enough while for others, they may need more in order to see the benefit.  Reiki should not be seen as a quick fix for an issue. Remember that issues with in the mind, body and soul do not develop overnight and may take time to heal.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION FAQ

What is past life regression?

Past Life Regression is a gentle form of hypnotherapy which takes an individual back through time to their previous lives or incarnations by accessing memories and experiences that are normally hidden in their subconscious mind. A PLR session guides you into a deep quiet and peaceful state where it’s easier to locate the memories held in your subconscious mind. By making these memories conscious, we can release the patterns that no longer serve us, freeing us to live more fully in the present. Beneficial patterns are reinforced, negative patterns are neutralized

How does past life regression work?

Hypnosis is used to access memories that are stored from the beginning of time up until the present. They say that all memories are cellular energy. The subconscious mind is not limited by imposing boundaries of logic, time or space. Past Life Regression is a tool used to understand and heal current symptoms of physical, mental and emotional issues. Open-ended questions will be asked to gently guide you into an experience that is right for you. It may take more than one session for a client to go deep enough to access a past life.

Is the information imagined?

It is not uncommon for people to question whether they have made up or imagined their experiences while in hypnosis. Regardless of whether you believe the experiences are real or imagined and whether you believe in the validity of past lives, there can be symptom relief or healing. Everyone experiences this in a personal way based on his or her belief system. It is important to keep an open mind during your session without trying to analyze what you feel. Don’t ignore first impressions or flashes of information. As the regression progresses and with practice, images or impressions will become stronger. Be open and be curious. The mind is very powerful and can reveal a lot if you are ready for it.

Am I guaranteed to go back in time?

Not everyone is guaranteed to, though it’s fairly rare that someone doesn’t in my experience. Sometimes when an individual has a firm belief that past lives don’t exist then it can create a block which doesn’t allow their mind to surrender to the experience. We tend to find that around 95% of clients do have one or more past life experiences during each regression. All you need is a curiosity about the subject.

ESSENTIAL OIL FAQ

What is an essential oil?

A variety of plants cover the Earth in different shapes, sizes, colors, and scents. Many of these plants contain compounds that typically can’t be seen with the naked eye—they hide within the roots, flowers, seeds, bark, or other areas of the plant. These compounds are known as essential oils. They are highly concentrated, making them extremely potent. Also referred to as volatile aromatic compounds, essential oils give a plant its aroma, protect it from harsh environmental conditions and insects, and even play a part in plant pollination.

Is the use of essential oils new?

While some view essential oils as a new trend, the use of plant extracts and plant-based products is deeply rooted in the traditions of the past. Ancient civilizations used plants for things like aromatherapy, personal care, health care practices, religious ceremonies, beauty treatments, and food preparation.

How does a plant become an essential oil?

The exact process for producing an essential oil will vary depending on what type of plant the oil comes from. However, the basic idea is that plants go through a specific distillation process using special machinery in order to separate the essential oil from its plant parts. The essential oil hides within different parts from the plant, often in microscopic amounts. During the distillation process, the machinery will separate the essential oil from its original plant part.

What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the inhalation of plant oils, called essential oils, for improved physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Essential oils are the pure essence of the plant—often referred to as nature’s living energy—and can provide both psychological and physical benefits when used correctly. Essential oils can be used on their own for aromatherapy or with complementary natural ingredients, such as vegetable or carrier oils.
